Digging

Does anyone know how to stop a maltipoo from digging? He is ruining the carpets in our home. But, he does this when no one is around so it's hard for us to train him to stop. I want to get rid of him but my husband's attached to it. Any advice would be great. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

your pooch is bored, get him some toys. if its hot where you are a little penut butter mixed into water and frozen makes a treat that takes a while to eat. frozen bones are good.

Try covering up the area he likes to dig in with a chair or or table, sometimes they get stuck or he likes the feel of a particular carpet. If he only does this when you are not home, put him in a crate. Mine is 1 1/2 years old and we put him in the crate everytime we go out. I have no plans about changing this as he gets older. Put comfortable padding and water and you are good to go. In genera
l, if you take them out for a walk in the morning for about 20 minutes, they burn off excess energy are much easier to manage. The Maltipoo is a great dog. Dont give him up!
