Apr 7 2008, 8:03 PM EDT Rossco's Sire is Yata hae Snooger and his Dam is Yata hae Sandy. He sure did turn out to be a beautiful puppy! Everyone always thinks he is a Blue Heeler. I think I have explained his breed to at least 100 people. :) That is okay though because I love talking about him! if you look on the web site www.germancoolies.com you will find lots of information. Apr 15 2008, 4:29 PM EDT "Everyone always thinks he is a Blue Heeler. "That is funny. Lots of people think the ACD (heeler) is a merle colored dog. It's funny when they see a REAL ACD (AKC registered) and will say, "I don't think that dog is a heeler, because he's not a blue merle". They get them confused with the Australian Shepherd, too. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Apr 15 2008, 10:44 PM EDT I was researching the Blue Heeler and it is funny because they don't look anything alike except maybe some of the coloring. :) Their build is completely different! I just explain to them and they usually say that they have never heard of the breed, to which I educate them. LOL! I don't think that many people in Duluth Minnesota have hearding dogs! There aren't that many farms in the area. The weather is too harsh I think. I promote the coolie because Rossco has become such a wonderful part of the family! He is so smart! I am sure it is due to his superior breeding! I have never seen a Blue Heeler in this area either, in fact the only hearding dog I have seen in the area is the german shepherd. Do you find this valuable? |
