Cody diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma
Apr 12 2008, 11:46 PM EDT My Cody will be 13 on May 15, 2008. June 2006 he was diagnosed with low grade lymphoma and we have been successfully treating it since. The about two weeks ago he was feeling poor and we could not figure it out. We took several x rays and finally found that he had a blockage in the intestines. He is almost 13 and I chose to have surgery to make him feel better. The Doctor found a chew toy. They just never grow up. Always a clown. Anyway when the Doctor was in his tummy he found a growth that was nasty looking so he took it out and that is how we found out about the hemangiosarcoma. I am just devasted. He has done so well, even with his really bad hips. NOw the vet says he only has about two months unless we do chemo then he will have between 6 and 9 months. I just do not know what to do. I do not want him sick from chemo, but the thought of him only being here only two months is heartbreaking. We also lost our beloved Black Lab suddenly in January from spinal cancer.
