Questions

Hello, I'm researching the Coolie breed (if it is an actual breed) and trying to find out some information on the breed, because I'm looking for a dog breed that doesn't have millions of health problems. And can you tell me why some are called Coolies that have a 5+ generation, but then some are also called a Coolie when they are a cross? You are not a breeder, but can you tell me how your Coolie gets along with other dogs, cats, kids, adults, or other animals? Are they easy or hard to train? Are they normally hard headed or soft? Are they intense or clowns? I keep asking breeders, but none are willing to help me.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there. Sorry it took me so long to reply! :) Yes, German Coolies are an actual breed of dog. The breed generally only has deafness and blindness if they are born with a predominantly white head. Other than that, they have no other known genetic health problems. I'm not sure about the 5+ generation thing :). They LOVE other dogs, children, cats, kids, adults (not sure about other animals other than cats). He is protective of me but not in a violent/aggressive way. He will generally just bark and let me know when someone is here. He was really easy to train and picks up on things quickly. He is mostly soft headed but he has his defiant puppy moments :). I would say he can be intense but yet act like a clown. You should go to germancoolies.com for some great information. You can toss her an e-mail and she'll give you a response back. Hope the information helps! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
