I'm owned by a 9 month old male Shih-Poo - CUPID. He's the lover of all things female! Born of a 12lb Shih-tzu mother and 3lb (you read right) Poodle father - he'll top out about 7.5-8lbs. They said he's pretty much full grown weight now at 9 months and is just under 7.5lbs. Quickly named by many of our dog-owning AND non-dog-owning neighbours as the 'Star of the Neighbourhood'. Our dog owning neighbours will put their own dog back in thehouse so they can cuddle Cupid uninterrupted. Cupid is very friendly, people dog. Loves and wants to go see anything that moves...squirrels, cats, groundhogs, dogs BIG and small... a real bundle of love! His name is VERY fitting of him!!! We brought him home at week 13. Highly reco allowing your puppy to stay with the Mother as long as you can - I really believe it's beneficial for puppy learning and training - like a baby staying with it's mother for nuturing. Cupid was the litter Runt and quite shy at first - scared of his own shadow. Now, amazingly confident and unafraid of anything - he even loves thunder + lightening! How? Whenever it was storming, we threw a 'party' for him... music, dancing around, brought out treats and now he welcomes them. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

just got a 9 week old shih poo. So far he is great, very charming, quiet but playful, and potty training is going well. You hear good and bad about all dogs, so I think it is all in your attitude, and the puppy acclimating to your lifestyle and home. I am trying to learn about grooming and his special needs. His eyes and nose do get runny and he sneezes a lot. We'll be going to the vet this week.

Yeap, we just got a Shih-poo too! Well, 2 1/2 weeks ago we picked her up. She is now 10 weeks old and such a joy to have around. Very loving, playful, feisty, and afraid of nothing! Already knows her name, Maya and "no" (but doesn't always listen, LOL) and also learning "come on". Potty training going very well using the wee pads because I am not convinced that she can hold her urine yet. She relieves herself outside and within 15 minutes goes again inside on her wee pad. What an awesome addition to our family.
