Very active. Loves to take long walks. Always ready to play. Very attentive when you talk to her. So cute she is hard to discipline. 8  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

I have a 1 year old puggle. I have done everything I can for her with training, herbal calming remedies, vet consultations, behavioral consultations, and she has continually been aggressive to other dogs and people. I am just sick of going to websites and people talking about what a great dog Puggles are, like they are the perfect breed...I just want people to realize that they aren't, and they can be bad dogs too. My trainer has met other puggles with the same problems as mine...a short fuse, tempermental, and aggressive. Yes, she is cute, and I love her, but she is not good around other dogs, she is bad around cats, and she has is a risk around children and people. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Has she been through obediance training? Was she well socialized when she was a young puppy? I am just trying to understand where this behavior is coming from. My Puggle thinks everyone is supposed to be her best friend. I understand though that there is no "perfect" breed. Dogs are like people in the way that they all do have faults. And everyone needs patience and lots of love. Do you have any pictures of your Puggle?

I have two other dogs--a Pug and a pug/shar pei mix. I also run a dog boarding/doggie daycare business in my home. So, Noel (my puggle) has been very well socialized since day one with us. As I said above, she does go to a trainer. I work with Noel EVERY DAY, CONSTANTLY, throughout the day on positive reinforcement training. Trust me, I have patience. If I didn't, she would be long gone by now. As far as lots of love... I devote more time to her than any other dog. She gets more individual attention than any other dog. She has special puzzle toys just for her. She gets special walk times and play times just for her. She is very smart--but she is simply a troubled, fearful dog. It is not my fault, it is not the trainer's fault, it isn't even Noel's fault, it is the breeder's fault. She is just genetically a troubled dog, a result of poor breeding. I am doing everything I can for her within my means. My point was simply to give an honest perspective on a Puggle. Every site that I have been to, talks about how great they are, I just want people to be aware that they can have problems too. And I just want to advise anyone considering a Puggle...go to a shelter first and get some other dog that needs a home--learn from my mistake. Don't go to a Pet Store, Don't go to a backyard breeder. I purchased a Puggle at 5 months old, who was so sweet & playful.... but like the one who posted here.... he has grown into a very fearful high-strung dog. He also he not great with my 2 cats, always chasing them at top speed. We train him, play with him, and give him tons of attention.... but it's never enough. He'll run top speed through-out the house, and you cannot say/do anything to stop him.
Also, when we leave the house, even to take out the trash... he barks loudly over & over until we get back. He howls too. His father was all Pug, his mother is a Puggle. I have to admit.... I am not so sure this was such a good mix to match.

My son and future daughter in law have a puggle (Molly. They live in my house so I play with Molly alot. I have a cat. Molly is fully trained but yes she does have accidents when left for long periods of time. Maybe once in a few months. Molly licks, give him her toys, tries to play with my cat everyday. My cat is 16 years old and wants no part of Molly. But everyday Molly wants to be friends with the cat. She is not aggressive with anyone. She is so sweet and loveable and very cute. She is hyper sometimes but that is just her. She is very scared of new things and people. She also has seperation problems when we leave her for the day. But it doesn't last long. She does chew everything so we watch what she is chewing. Sounds like we have two different dogs. Do you find this valuable?
