My dog likes squeaky toys... and I don't
Nov 4 2008, 8:53 AM EST | Post edited: Nov 4 2008, 8:53 AM EST
My dog is very picky about toys. She won't play with a toy unless it squeaks, whistles, or makes some sort of noise. Of course toys that make noise really get on my nerves because she plays with them nonstop for hours and they are loud and obnoxious. I want to break her habit of only playing with squeaky toys by introducing her to some new kind of toy that she equally likes. Any suggestions of what to get her? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Sure, throw out squeaky toys. There are lots of toys that are flavored or you can put snacks in them. They cost about $9-11. When Sadie is acting obnoxiously bored or restless-use one of these toys. wave it in front her face-take it back-let her get her teeth on it and gentlely tug. I use rawhide for them to chew and play with. since she chews for hours-let her chew on rawhide- they are basted with chicken or beef-stuffed with peanut butter or a thin layer of some doggie treat. You can even get some special ropes with soft fibers so her teeth and mouth can't be hurt-some also are fixed with a treat or that you can add treats. All of these things will help keep her teeth clean and her gums healthy. Many toys are marked for light to meduim chewers, medium to strong chewers and for extra strong chewers. So-enjoy in several ways-silence-health-and interaction. 1  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

This should work. she might be in a snit for a few days, but she'll come around-By the way, since we talk so much, we should be friends. it's nice to know other people with less than perfect dogs and getting annoyed by the dog's behavior. I rented a jackhammer to get old concrete pilings out-about 3 feet deep. i got an emergency call from a grandson on Sunday. I hollered at the hearing impaired grandson to bring my stuff in. He got everything but the jackhammer. The hounds had been fascinated with my new toy. They stripped the outer rubber for about 3 ft. then they stripped the grounding, negative and positive wires for about a half inch. When they tasted the copper, they stopped. I taped each wire, then pulled up the insulation and taped it. I finished my work-which took an extra day and took it in. They saw the teeth marks, the stripping and laughed. because I showed them they needed a new cord, they charged me for one day and gave me a discount. They were glad that I had enough sense not to let the bare wires touch each other when the power was on and burn out an expensive tool. They thought that it was neat that the dogs actually ran their teeth down the length of the rubber insulations without chewing through. One had to have held the electric cord while the other one stripped. i need to get them goggles so they don't lose an eye. Someone will let them out and i have metal filings flying and burning me and I feel a bump and one of the hounds will be standing up, next to me trying to see how a grinder or something works. Oh, no! I hope your hounds are okay!
Yes, I think we should be friends, too. I saw your friend request, but my Internet is blocking it for some reason, so I am going to have to unlock it later. When I do get it figured out, I will be friend! Thanks for being a good contributor to wikiFido!

It's probably comcast. You probably can't unlock from the weird computer problems in Albuquerque. I'll send you another one in a few days. we had some terrific mini storms that uprooted huge trees, etc. They have lots of fine dirt that gets into everything. Then we had a bad mini storm for a few hours. Everybody had electronic problems from the dirt and wind problems. My computer picked this time to get flakey in several ways. I called Comcast and they said that there wasn't any problem. I reset my computer to factory settings-then the router to my grandsons PC wouldn't work. Comcast kept saying that only TV was out-but ours was okay. I got a new modem from Comcast-then I could get online with lots of help from the techs. So I did need a new modem.
I was going to buy a new router today, but I got up and the router is working, at least on my laptop. I'll send you a friend request in a few days. You might want to contact wet paint about getting rid of it. It's probably in some cipher. Posts on the main page were okay-so who would have thought?
2 days ago, a gust of wind pulled the door out of my hand-taking trash to dumpster. Missy made a run of it. She went into a big bush and hid, but her ear was lying out on the sidewalk. I guess hounds don't have a chance.
