I am surprised at the poster below's comments. My NAID is amazing, I couldn't be without her. She's smart, loyal, athletic and very protective (but sweet) with our son. She was pretty much the perfect family dog for us. She is timid/passive around other dogs but once she settles into the group (ie, at her daycare, the dog park, etc) she is just fine and runs around and plays. I've had Border Collies my whole life but having her has been wonderful. They are a more sensitive breed and do require a more experienced and attentive owner than Lassie/Golden Retriever types that are bred for obedience. :)
