Check with petfinder.com. You can list thetype of dog you want, age and gender. They'll send you an update almost daily and they usually have pictures. Most places do charge a fee and yu have to pay for fixing the dog to stop dog over population. When we got the hounds fixed and their shots & city license-the dog shelter gave us all of the money back. So have some fun, check out the dogs-see what shelters, rescue groups and private people want you to do to get a dog. By the way, we spayed our female dogs when it wasn't a requirement. I adore puppies, but I don't want them mistreated. Good luck on your search. PS. There's probably some expense in getting the dog. We drove a 100 miles one-way, when gas was $5.00 a gallon to get the hounds. let me know how it works out. Do you find this valuable? |
