Great, I'm glad to see this. Do you rescue any other type of hound or just bassetts? We have a rescued Bluetick and a Walker. We find it difficult to imagine life without them. We don't need or want any more.
My son is a disabled Vet that loves Bassetts. He got a purebred bassett. The minute he had to stay at the VA in Maryland, his wife took it to the kill shelter. He was able to contact a Bassett rescue group that got the dog out. A few years later, he got another Bassett-he cleaned and fed them. When he had to go to the VA again-he asked his father to help him. His dad, my X, took it to a kill shelter. He keeps talking about the rescue group in Maryland. Your work with one dog will last many years. Bless you.
My son would rather have Bassetts-but he's very happy with the Walker and Bluetick. When he comes home from physical therapy-hospital stay-or an out patient craft group session-he knows that they will be bawling and wagging their tails.
