My dog is approaching the 5 month mark and is in need of some discipline. Can anyone recommend a good canine obedience school in the seattle area? Do you find this valuable?

For a list of trainers in your area, you can visit the following websites:

International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants
http://www.iaabc.org

Association of Pet Dog Trainers
http://www.apdt.com

I recommend choosing a few trainers in your area and observing a class before you sign up. A trainer should be willing to let you drop in and observe a class. You should feel comfortable with the methods used - if you aren't, you won't use them consistently and you will be wasting your money.

Thanks for the links! I'll move these links up to the dog training pages for all to see! Feel free to edit pages if you have more useful info!

I've heard great things about Bark Busters. I tried the Academy of Canine Behavior which has a super intense bootcamp, but Jackson and I just did the evening program. I didn't love the class - I thought it was too big. Check this page for more: http://www.wikifido.com/page/Seattle+Dog+Trainers or search for Seattle Dog Trainers.

Thanks for adding your org to the site. Do you have any quick training tips that you could share in the Dog Training section? If so, you should annotate your tips as "provided by" and link back to your wikiFido page. Do you find this valuable?
