I found a 6 Week old Yellow Lab puppy Tossed in a Ditch yesterday...

For whatever silly reason my PC wont edit the page, but ill get on later with pictures. The little yellow lab puppy was covered head to toe by hundreds of fleas and fire ants. We almost lost him. We got him cleaned off, bathed and every single flea is gone. HydroCortisone to stop some of the discomfort since he's too young for any medications. Going to the Vet this morning. His gums were WHITE. But this morning they are PINK again! I think he's gonna make it. We've named him "2nd Chance" Who in God's name would do this to a Puppy? It was next to a Highway....There's a special place in H3LL for people do do this. We went back later to make sure there weren't any more from his liter, none there or in the woods either. Cant wait to get the pictures up. He is ADORABLE! 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Hey! I dont know why my PC couldnt edit.. but I got them up today on another one. Not sure if Travis wants to keep him or not. If not I have someone that will take him and find him a great home. No matter what, it will be a good situation for him. He will NEVER be abandonded like that again ...thats for sure! God help the person If I find out who did this to him. Other than the gnawing, he is a SWEETHEART.. And Smart too. He picks up things quickly (faster than my Iggys).

For a moment I thought that you were calling me sweet heart-in the old Southern way LOL- I love hunting dogs- when I take a pet in for shots- I call and ask if it seems to be hunting dog day- it seems that there's an internal magnetic clock that ticks. For some reason-Mondays seem to be toy dog and kitty days-Tues and Fri-pit bull and other bully dogs- pups and hunting dogs show up on Wed and Thurs. Sat seems to have more people that bring in cats than dogs. Who can figure? I'm glad that your PC seems to be over its brain gas-LOL-and you're online, doing what you want.
Keep us updated on 2nd Chance-I find myself thinking about the poor mother-since the pup was in such poor condition.

They went and did a thorough look around for the mother and any siblings - none. They looked everywhere you could imagine. Apparently this was the only one dropped off like this, dont know why. Maybe the Jerk spread them out around .. Arrggg .. I dont want to think about that... Ill just get angry to think that I wasnt able to save them. But - I just got to concentrate on Chance. He's doing great. Ill put more pictures of him up this morning to share.

Update - Chance is doing GREAT. He is gaining weight, almost a pound since we got him Friday. The blood loss appears to have been replenished. He is running and playing and just having a great time. His worming medications are all done and so are his "Runny" poops - thank God. Last night was the first night we allowed him to sleep with us. He "Parked" next to my head all night long and slept there... I woke to him trying to nurse on my upper arm. Took him outside before anythng else and he did his business! Awesome little guy! Wow! Great-I certainly understand about the runs- Stonewall had beaver fever-which gave him cramps in the night-off and on-they also get cramps and runs from rich food-it takes a smart person to balance the need for nourishment while not upsetting the system from normal food. So you saved him again- Do you find this valuable?

What cracks me up: you find something starving and give love, food, pay the vet $$$, work with it and then somebody says, "You should be ashamed of yourself for buying a dog from a breeder when so many dogs are dying!!" It 's the same with my orange furrball that purrs- Do you find this valuable?

So glad to see that there are still people in this world who care about animals--when you see how much abuse goes on every day, you start to wonder if anyone cares anymore about animals. If you go to a website for American Humane, they show pics of animals that they have helped moneywise for vet care etc. and everyone of them in some way has been abused. At least they are helping them to heal and they will find good homes for them eventually.
God Bless the person who rescued this poor little lab puppy. Try to screen prospective adopters of that poor little puppy if you don't decide to keep it.
God Bless you for saving its life.

Your experience is exactly why I have three abandoned dogs, all having their own stories, but little 2nd Chance (good name, I had a chance) makes me cry. I agree with your sentiments, fate will catch up with these creeps.
