Hi, I featured your request for a rottweiler. I also added more key words so when people talk about rottweilers that they'll see your thread. I'm presuming that you want a guard dog for your wife. I've found that neutered males can still be very protective of their humans without the problems of running off to mate. Also females will be like a mother and be more aggressive in protecting a petite human than some males. Last week they tarred a roof on the house behind me. My hounds thought our house was on fire and my fixed hounds tried to drag me out of bed. They've also ran off some would be intruders. I have a friend that only has rottweilers and he neuters his. I've bred dogs, as my friend has, but if I'm not breeding dogs, I prefer them to be "fixed". By the way, the dogs decided that since I was going to stay in the house, they'd stay with me no matter what. This is just my opinion about dogs. Do you find this valuable?

Another thing about females is that they don't pee all over the house-marking their territory. Let us know how your search is going. I lived on the Big Island and my brother lives in Japan-so I know that things are a little different off of the tourist beat. Do you find this valuable?

I have two Bangkaew dogs (they are Thai dogs) to guard my miniature Thai girlfriend. After seeing a Rottweiler with a headspan bigger than my chest and about as tall as myself back when I was carrying mail for a living I decided I never wanted one. Good luck though! The Bangkaew dogs are good guard dogs and pets (very loyal) when and if you're in Thailand (and some of them are imported to the U.S. as well). Do you find this valuable?
