What a cute name! First, how old is she? My puppy Rosie who is almost 6 months now was hard to train on a leash also but, they really do need walks so, its a necessity that they learn. They way I taught Rosie was by brining some yummy treats with us and throwing them in front of us or carrying one in my hand and bribing her along with it. You just need to bribe her to walk and then praise her. Also, consistency is very important. She won't learn if you only try a few days a week. This is something that needs to be practiced everyday. Does she walk on a leash outside to her potty area? If so, walk her on tyour left side and don't let her run in front of you. If you are out for a walk and she is constantly pulling, stop walking when she pulls, get the leach loose again and then start walking again. It may feel like you are stopping all the time but, she will eventually get it. How is Emma doing on potty training? Did you crate train her? I crate trained Rosie and it worked wonderfully. Now she is able to be home alone and out of her crate for 4 hours max. without an accident but, the crate training was great. You should read up on NILF training (Google it). It's a great way to quikly teach her obediance commands plus it will help her be a very well behaved dog. Well, let me know how things go and if you have any other questions. I love talking about Puggles. Also- do you have a page with your babies pictures on it? If not, you should creat one! Do you find this valuable? |
