The origin of the JS is not conclusive. One hypothesis says that JS could indeed be descended from the Samoyed. But it's the least reliable. More likely JS are descended from the German Spitz or the American Eskimo. Apparently DNA tests are currently being done to verify. But as of now, no one really knows the true ancestry. Check out Michael Piasentin's book "The Japanese Spitz" for more info. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?
