Hi!
Not sure where you are located........but we purchased a Chipoo 1-1/2 years ago, and never regretted it for a minute.
"Maggie" is the joy of our life! We have always owned a dog (always larger breeds......the latest was a great pyrness-who sadly had to be put down because of a cancerous tumor in his nose)
Our lives so far with Maggie has made us considering finding another.
She is very devoting, protective, loving and humerous not to mention playful and smart. She was quite easy to train and knows who the master is. We also have two grown cats whom she gets along fine with.
We find that it did take a while for her to accept any strangers, but once she got to know them, she was very affectionate. She loves camping, going for drives, walking,.playing with toys, playing fetch and swimming and watching any TV program with animals, especially dogs)!
If you are looking for a small breed who can bring pleasure in your life......look for a Chipoo.
Just to mention, I have seen a lot of pictures of Chipoos, and Maggie does not really look like them. She is all black and does not have the fur of a poodle, it is a little longer and straight,,,,not curly. When she goes to the groomer and especially in the summer time, her fur is cut shorter. As far as her face, it is more round and at times people ask me if she is a Yorkie. Maggie now weights about 3 lbs. I don't think she is going to get any bigger.
We purchased her for $250.00 (friend of a friend) in Montreal. Her mother was a chicaugha and father a mini french poodle.
Good luck on your search!
