If the club voted to change the name to the Australian Koolie, then WHY does the club still refer to it?
Thanks, Paige

I noticed I left off some of my question. If the club voted to change the name to the Australian Koolie, then why does the club still refer to the dogs as Coolie or German Coolie? Why change the name, if you're going to continue to call it a Coolie or German Coolie? That's like Prince, then "formerly known as Prince". Can someone answer my question, I really want to know this.

Hi Paige If you read the article about the name on the clubs website you will see that a decision was needed as to the name the club was to be known by, it is accepted that breeders use different forms of the name and they are welcome to continue doing so much as Australian Cattle Dogs are also know as Heelers, Blue Heelers and Queensland Heelers everyone is able to use which ever one they feel comfortable with.

Yes, I did read the website and that's not what it said. That was not the reason given for changing the name. The reason given was so that there was no more confusion about Collie vs Coolie. So, if that's the reason, then why is the club still using "German Coolie", why not just drop it and not use it anymore, as it was voted against by some people, and just stick with Australian Koolie. Switching back and forth seems like your club is trying to grab all the straws and is not cofident in what they done/voted on and now seems confused itself. I'm just asking a simple question, and referring me back to the webpage is more confusing because what you say is not what the webpage says.

Can anyone answer this question that knows what they are talking about.
Paige.

And PS, I don't care what the other breeds do, or what they call their dog breed, or whatever. If I wanted a heeler, I"d a buy a one. I want a Koolie, but want to know as much as possible before I do so. Conflicting information is not good for business.
