I just got a new Australian Shepherd/lab mix. He does not like to play and he sure will not listen. How and what can i do to get him to listen? He loves to play out side with my other dogs but all he does when he comes in is sleeps and lay around. He is 6 months and he really was never around people.Have any idea's for me... Thank you 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

I have a 6 month old Australian Shepard/ lab mix as well. I've spent a lot of time with him treat training him and taking him to the park to help leash train him and socialize him with other dogs. I play with him daily. Maybe try taking him to a park where there are people and socialize him with people. I bring him home and will play with him...literally I wrestle around with him and he loves it. We bought many sqeaky toys for him to play with and every time he does something good we give him a treat and play with him. When he does something bad we tell him no and put him in his kennel with no attention for 5 minutes and it has worked wonders!! Labs are very playful and australian kelpies love to play outside and be around other dogs. I hope this helps!! Do you find this valuable?
