Are you using the right type of brush for a maltese? I'm not a maltese owner, so anybody else out there, feel free to correct me or jump on in, but I would think that using a wider spaced pin type of brush. Also, have you tried spraying her with some leave-in type of conditioner before brushing to make it easier to get through? Maybe something like the No-more-tears detangler for kids? I'd also suggest petting her and stroking her while brushing, to calm and relax her. A treat at the end of the brushing session probably wouldn't hurt either as this will have her associate grooming with a yummy at the end! (I do this with clipping my pug's toenails and it works like a charm--she's very patient, and knows that the end bring something good!) Hope this is a help!

I have a special brush and I use conditioner too and I use detangler in spray for dogs but still it is very hard to detangle her hair I paly with her too and give her brakes. Maybe I just need time so she can get use to the brush, but thank you anyways Im going to try the treats after I am done brushing her hair, YOURS IS VERY CUTE TOO!!!!! Do you find this valuable?
