any advice for shedding. I saved one from a local shelter and brush her everyday but she is shedding like crazy. Also, she has selective hearing and have so far been only able to train her to sit. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

i saved mine from a local shelter also. generally they don't shed that much, so it could be from stress she endured at the shelter. I put a tablespoon of canola oil in my walker's food, which also helps. Do you find this valuable?

in my experience with my pup, Bubba, I just keep him with me and give him a lot of attention...I`ve never had a major problem.. he tries to chew on things and such but I am usually always there so I am able to catch him in the act...if you scold them while they are in the middle of doing something bad it is a lot more likely it will stick with them.....when showing a hound to sit and stay etc. you don't have to have a treat for them every time especially when u still have to push on their behind to make them sit.. when you say sit and you barely even touch them on the behind and they mind is when I start giving treats...overall just give them a lot of love and attention and keep a tight grip on the fact that you are the boss. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. i work for the marion county humane society in fairmont, wv. We have a beautiful male walker coonhound. Loves people, likes some dogs. He is just a gentle giant. He has been at our shelter for about 2-3 years. He really needs to find a home. If anybody is interested or needs more info here is the web address : http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9633760. Thanks for your time Kayla. 0  out of 2 found this valuable.
