want a doodle puppy!!!
Jul 20 2007, 12:27 AM EDT I am dying for a doodle - have been searching all of the sites I know of, but I won't buy - will rescue or adopt - any ideas out there about how to find one that's not from a breeder, or is it just impossible???? Thanks! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 20 2007, 1:18 PM EDT I applaud you for searching for a rescue or adoption dog and I think you'll be able to find the right dog with some persistence. I would think that if you check in with local rescue groups and let them know that you are looking for a particular type of dog, they will let you know if they hear about one. Not sure where you're located, but have you tried locating the smaller rescue people--like here in the Seattle area, there is a woman, Ginger, who rescues all the time and she is so aware of what dogs are in all the local shelters. Somebody like that would certainly be able to help. Check out Ginger's Pet Rescue (here on wikiFido) to learn more. I know Ginger and she (and others like her) would be an enormous help in your search. If you're willing to adopt from a distance, maybe Ginger would even be worth talking to. Good luck!
