Jul 24 2007, 4:24 PM EDT Pete, the dog on my profile, has been getting into dogfights lately with a chow/black lab mix! His face was scratched and a bit beaten and last night I heard Pete barking but I thought it was just a raccoon. I found out this morning that he was in a dogfight. The dog bit his ear, wounded his head, and made a gash in Pete's back leg. Pete can't hardly walk and is at the hospital now! I went this morning to see him but his owners, our neighbors about a block away, said he is at the hospital and isn't sure when they're going to get him back! Their 7-year-old son, my brother's friend, said he was bleeding from his head and he couldn't even get out of the car at the vet [who happens to be my next-door-neighbors]!! I'm so scared because I love Pete to death! This is first time I can actually say, meaning every word, that I wish the Chow mix would go away and never come back, or get hurt so he would stop or something! I cried earlier for Pete! Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 26 2007, 12:23 PM EDT My little brother and sister and I went swimming at Pete's house yesterday. He was back from the 'hospital' and he was better. He's still a bit sick from it and the medicine probably. Pete's right ear/cheek is shaved, ear for the stitches from where the Chow bit him. He's limping a bit and doesn't like moving, but at least he IS moving! I'm so glad he's better. His family recently [a couple of days ago] got a new puppy named Zoey. She's a full blood Golden and AKC registered. I'll post pictures on my profile. They were taken yesterday [the 26th]. ..Elli Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 27 2007, 11:11 AM EDT I'm so glad to hear that Pete is better--that is very scary when dogs get into brawls like that. I'm having some difficulty understanding though--is Pete your dog or your neighbor's? And the chow is a wandering dog, or?? Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 27 2007, 11:27 PM EDT Pete is the neighbors, and the Chow belongs to some people who live 2 doors down. Pete lives a block away. Saw him today and his leg isn't hurting him anymore, he was prancing around. His face is still swollen and a bit beaten up but he's a whole lot better. Do you find this valuable? |

Another update
Aug 1 2007, 11:00 AM EDT I see Pete almost every day and his leg is completely better! He runs around like a puppy all the time and LOVES to be loved on and spoiled! His face wounds are healing, they aren't raw, but they may leave a bit of a scar. All in all he's doing great, almost well! Do you find this valuable? |

Hello!
Oct 15 2007, 10:30 PM EDT WOW! It's been FOREVER since I've been on here! Just a quick update. Pete is completely better and has been for QUITE a while now. He got a friend, Zoey, who is also full Retriever. They're planning on breeding the two. Zoey is probably a few months old and growing fast! Coconut is crazy. The cooler air is starting to make him frisky and the other day we danced around for no reason at all :). He turned 5 in September, the 18th to be exact. Not much more to say but gotta run!
