Biting
Sep 10 2007, 1:30 PM EDT
A dog's behavior is a direct reflection of the owner. All dogs are capable of biting. A friend of mine had his tongue (yes, tongue) bit off by a cocker spaniel. On the whole, they ARE good with children as long as they are properly socialized and understand that they are a subordinate.

Yes, I think that's a great point! All dogs, no matter what breed, need to be properly trained, socialized, and supervised! Great parenting makes for great dogs (or children, for that matter!) :)

Great Danes used to be used as guard dogs therefore they can still have that trait in their genes. As long as they are socialized and raised correctly they are great pets.
